End of the fall semester at Future Studies

Our Future Studies students successfully completed the first semester.

December is marked by various activities, both on the program and outside of classes.

We completed the Future Skills module with a focus on new skills. Violeta Kecman, author of the book of the same name, spoke about critical thinking and media literacy. The importance of a media-literate society was highlighted, as well as what the competencies of the 21st century are. Andrea Darabašić, an alumna of the program, held a workshop on LinkedIn profile management. There were talks about how to stand out in the competitive labor market, how to build your network of contacts, and how to start an effective job search. The students, following their development of public speaking skills, also completed their workshops with Vladimir Pavićević.

Vladimir Đurđević, full professor at the meteorology group of the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade, held a lecture on climate change, i.e. what contributes to the increasingly warm world, which brings with it the frequent occurrence of extreme phenomena in nature, among which heat waves, droughts, fires, higher ocean levels etc. The students had the opportunity to talk with Ilija Tanasković, researcher-intern at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence, about what artificial intelligence is, how it works, and what are its possibilities and advantages in solving problems. The last lecture on the Knowledge for the Future module was dedicated to the challenges of liberal democracy, which were discussed by Feđa Pavlović, a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies of the University of Montenegro.

The psychological workshops with Jana Stojanović ended with a conversation and a lecture on affective attachment and close relationships.

Students celebrated the end of the semester in a festive atmosphere. After completing the obligations and activities of the Program, the students exchanged gifts, after which they continued their socializing. Behind them is a semester during which they acquired different knowledge and skills, but also new acquaintances and friendships.

We wish them much success in the new ventures that await them in 2024.
