During 2024, the Belgrade Open School will implement the project "Local actors for clean energy and air 2024", which is supported by the European Climate Foundation. The activities that will be carried out on this project continue the activities already started in previous years, and will be divided into two groups.
The first group of activities will cover air quality in Serbia, within this group of activities:
- We will provide support to activists and CSO representatives in their advocacy initiatives in the form of consultations, training and other forms of support
- We will continue with the expansion of the citizen air quality measurement network and data analysis
- We will monitor and actively participate in the creation of relevant legal and by-law documents and actively monitor their implementation at the national and local level
The second group of activities refers to the process of decarbonization and fair energy transition, within this group of activities:
- We will analyze the defined frameworks of just transition at the local level
- We will strengthen local energy cooperatives and map potential communities where it is possible to form an energy cooperative
- We will provide active support during the establishment of a new energy cooperative in the Republic of Serbia
Project activities started in December 2023 and will last until December 2024.
