Within the first cycle of the Learn.Mobilize.Participate support program the Belgrade Open School team organized a three-day training session in Sabac for local partners, CSOs and media, which deal with the protection and improvement of the environment.
The training was attended by 33 participants, local partner representatives whose projects are supported by the program.
The projects of the supported organizations and media will be implemented from September 2023 to April 2024 with the support of the BOS team. The thematic areas addressed by the supported projects include nature protection, air quality, water protection and management, waste management and horizontal legislation.
The local partners will implement project activities in Priboj, Nova Varos, Leskovac, Kragujevac, Valjevo, Vrsac, Mokrin, Kovin and Belgrade.
During the training, the selected organisations and media received guidance on successful financial and programme management of projects, as well as guidance on how to apply the methodology for monitoring local public policies on environmental protection.
The training participants received promotional materials in the form of folders, notebooks, wooden pens and ballpoint pens. We are particularly proud of the cooperation with the Women's Centre of Užice, which produced cloth bags from rescued textiles for the needs of the project.
The program is part of the five-year project "Together for the Environment" implemented by the Belgrade Open School and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Young Researchers of Serbia, the international environmental organization The Nature Conservancy, the association ENECA and the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia (AmCham).
