The Third National Forum within the project "Virtual Internships for an Inclusive Society" brought together over 60 youth representatives, high school teachers, youth offices, and representatives of companies from all over Serbia to analyze existing and create future models of virtual internships. The event was held on August 24th and 25th.
At the III National Forum, existing examples of good internships in companies that provide opportunities for young people to develop their competencies and gain experiences that are important for their later inclusion in the labor market were pointed out. Young people who are in the process of transitioning from the world of education to the labor market are recognized as one of the most sensitive social groups. In order to overcome the barriers they face during this transition, companies are recognized as key partners in providing opportunities for gaining professional experience.
The forum brought together representatives of the business sector - Marko Čičovački in front of UniCredit Bank, Miloš Đuričanin from the Nordeus Foundation, as well as Radmila Čokić in front of the Mercator-S company – which gave young people the opportunity to find out what virtual internships look like in the business world. One of the topics of discussion was the benefits that young people would have if they took part in one of the virtual internship models, as well as how different companies could improve their work by including young people in their existing programs.
The event also featured young people who went through the "Student Company" educational program, which allows students to be involved in the development and management of their own companies, with real products and services, as well as to manage the money earned during their high school education. The following student companies were presented at the event: SoftAwareness from Novi Sad, ZaČili from Zaječar, and OT Team from Varvarin. There was also talk about digital tools in the process of supporting young people through JOB info centers.
