The second National Forum within the project "Virtual Practices for an inclusive society" was held on May 22nd and 23rd, 2023. The forum brought together over 50 representatives of young people and secondary school teachers from all over Serbia to analyze existing and creating future models of virtual practices that would be by the expectations and needs of young people, while on the other hand, it would be possible to acquire professional skills for future employment. The discussion provided an opportunity for a detailed analysis of issues such as the motivation of young people for inclusion in different models of practice and the benefits they have from active participation in them.
The question of companies' interest in providing young people with such forms of professional development was the subject of discussion, with an emphasis on the development potential of companies that would be realized through such programs. The National Forum made a significant contribution to the further development of the virtual internship program, especially through the participation of the participants in the workshop where they created their models of virtual internships, which would respond to their needs and provide them with adequate practical and theoretical knowledge that would benefit them in their further career development. Special emphasis was placed on the benefits that young people would have from participation and how different companies could improve their work by including young people in their collective.
Research conducted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2022 showed that an increasing number of young people (87.4%) do not participate in any internship program. Chronological insight into the statistics of youth participation in various forms of practice (from 2015 to 2022) shows a declining trend in the motivation of young people to participate in internship programs to acquire professional skills. On the other hand, 70% of young people said that they use some online tools to acquire new knowledge and skills in their educational and professional advancement. Taking into account market development trends and hybrid forms of work, as well as young people's orientation towards multimedia learning tools, the Forum provided an opportunity to exchange opinions on virtual practice models that will enable young people to improve professionally with the use of ICT tools and by their interests.
The second National Forum was held as part of the project "Virtual Practices for Inclusive Societies" implemented by the Belgrade Open School, in partnership with the National Youth Council (North Macedonia), the organizations Pixel (Italy), XANO Channel (Spain), Junior Avcievement (Europe), Junior Achievements (Serbia). The project is implemented in the period from 2022 to 2024 and is supported by the European Commission.
