As part of the "Virtual Internships for Inclusive Societies" project, the third international partner meeting was held on March 7th and 8th in Florence, attended by partners from Italy, Spain, Macedonia and Serbia.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences on virtual internships from partner countries, the needs of young people in the area of competence improvement, the barriers that young people face in this field, as well as the support mechanisms that are available to them during education and the transition to the labor market afterward. In addition, the meeting provided a framework for the development of a model of cooperation between the educational system, business, and the civil sector, which will be available to young people when they enter the labor market and respond to its challenges.
By reviewing the existing models of virtual internships in Italy, Spain, North Macedonia, and Serbia, the participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with different legal regulations, contents, and ways of implementing internships for young people, which will provide the basis for the creation of a transnational review on virtual internships at the European level. This approach will enable the mapping of common challenges and barriers for young people at the European level, as well as the formulation of virtual practice programs, which will provide the basis for the creation and implementation of virtual practice models, which will simultaneously be able to respond to the needs and trends of the labor market development, but also to take into account the career needs and preferences of young people.
An overview of the tasks performed in the previous period was also presented at the meeting. Also presented are the internship models that the organizations have decided on, as well as how the process of selecting participants for the internship in the models that the organizations have chosen went and how students from rural areas are covered. One of the important issues also concerned cooperation with companies, as well as the involvement of companies in existing internship models.
