Belgrade Open School invites journalists to apply for the new cycle of the Media and Youth Academy of Journalism. Fifteen journalists will have a unique opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills, and tools for journalism.
The program begins with a three-day introductory training, held live from January 24 to 26, 2024. The lecture program lasts for six weeks and takes place online, outside working hours, while the three-day final event will be organized live. Selected participants will have their transportation, hotel accommodation, and meals covered.
During the lectures, participants will have the chance to learn from professionals from renowned Serbian newsrooms – NIN, KRIK, CINS, N1, BBC in Serbian, RTV, and many others. Topics covered include advanced techniques and tools in journalism, investigative journalism, mobile journalism, journalistic forensics, as well as the use of new forms such as artificial intelligence, data visualization, podcasts, and more.
In addition to lectures, with the support of mentors – media experts from leading domestic media outlets, participants will have the opportunity to create their own media products, for which we have prepared valuable prizes: €2000 for first place, €1500 for second, and €1500 for third place!
The program aims to improve practical reporting skills, familiarize participants with investigative journalism, introduce new techniques to young journalists, and encourage mutual networking and collaboration.
