Since 2018, the Belgrade Open School has been implementing a project in cooperation with the European Climate Foundation, through which it covers two lines of activities: the first are activities related to air quality in Serbia, the second activities related to energy development, decarbonization of our country's energy system and just energy transition.Through activities related to air quality so far we have:
- Launched and developed a citizen air quality monitoring network;
- Monitored the development of relevant laws and bylaws, consultations and events were organized with the aim of gathering professional and interested public; furthermore, comments to these documents were written and forwarded during the public hearings;
- Numerous of analyzes related to air quality, air quality monitoring and air quality reports from institutions responsible for this problem have been written.
Through activities related to decarbonisation and just energy transition, so far:
- Several analyzes of the potential for the implementation of a just energy transition in the municipality of Lazarevac were performed;
- Several meetings were organized with the citizens of the municipality of Lazarevac, as well as the initial meeting of municipal representatives;
- Cooperation with Trade Union representatives on developing joint activities in the direction of involving workers from mining regions in this process has been initiated;
- Projects team participated in the work of Working Groups for the development of relevant documents;
- Consultations related to the adoption of several different important documents have been organized, with an aim of gathering professional and interested public to express their views and send comments, in order to improve the content of these documents.
