The project "Visible data for invisible air" aimed to contribute to better quality and accessibility of air quality data in Serbia through the application of open data principles.
The specific objectives of the project were raising awareness and improving citizens' awareness of air quality, and initiating the creation of an adequate environment on the Internet for publishing, exchanging, collecting and using air quality data in a machine readable format. In addition, it intends to support the establishment of cross-sectoral partnerships to deal with the issue of air quality.
The main activities on the project were:
-Establishment of a network for civil measurement of air quality;
-Developing and maintaining a platform for publishing air quality data;
-Establishing a network of partners in the field of open air quality data.
The project lead to an increased understanding of the importance of data access and the application of open data to improve public policy in the area of air quality protection by all relevant actors.
Partner organization on the project is the Internet Society of Serbia.
The project was implemented in the period from 15.6.2019. until 31.1.2020. and financially was supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
