“ConSENSus - A Partnership Approach in Creating an Environmental Policy” project has been designed to improve the mechanisms and practices of CSO participation in environmental policy management at the local level through advocacy and the establishment of local Green Councils and the development of decision models for their functioning.
The project has contributed to building a partnership approach between civil society and public institutions for making better policies in the field of the environment and sustainable development.
The objectives of the ConSENSus project have been realized through the establishment of local Green Councils and the development of decision models for their functioning. The project has also contributed to building a partnership approach between civil society and public institutions for making better environmental and sustainable development policies through the establishment of Green Forums, a mechanism to promote environmental policy dialogues, as well as through establishing a CSO network and connecting CSOs with the SCTM Eco Committee Network and the creation of a web platform "Aarhupedia", which enables the exchange of information, knowledge, experience and practices between the civil sector and public institutions and citizens.
The experiences and results of the project, complemented by comparative examples, are published in the publication "Democracy against the Challenge - How the Public Participates in Creating the Environment", which you can download HERE (Serban version only).
Partners on the project have been the UNECOOP from Paracin, Arhus Center Kragujevac and CEFIX Center for Energy Efficiency from Vrsac.
The project has been financially supported by the Regional Environmental Center (REC) and backed up by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
