"Raising Accountability of Universities in Serbia", is the project that the Belgrade Open School realized in the period from 2012 to 2015, with the support of Olof Palme International Center.
The aim of this project was to prevent corruption at faculties and universities, through the application of student rights and duties, as well as with the constant supervision over the work of universities.
Since 2013, the project has been focused on transparency research and access to information at universities in Serbia, through the analysis of the availability of information / relevant documents on the websites of 140 faculties in Serbia (the number of accredited faculties at the time of the research).
By advocating amendments to the Law on Higher Education in the direction of greater transparency by the Belgrade Open School, that law was amended in 2014, and since then it has been a new obligation of faculties to publish on their internet presentations the criteria for determining tuition and tuition fees. By the end of 2015, the last of the three annual goals of the monitoring of transparency research of higher education institutions in Serbia was implemented, and the ranking list of the transparency of the High School is available on the website www.univerziteti.bos.rs.
Within this project, a research report "Transparency of Universities in Serbia" was created, as well as "Student Representative Manual".
