Centre for European Integration (CEI) of the Belgrade Open School and Friedrich Ebert Foundation started the implementation of “Civil Society of Serbia in the Process of EU Integration: Sharing Values and Maintaining Dialogue” project in order to develop sustainable dialogue between civil society organisations (CSO) from Serbia and EU through their active participation in the implementation of environmental laws and environmental policy.
The project “Civil Society of Serbia in the Process of EU Integration: Sharing Values and Maintaining Dialogue” was conducted in cooperation with the Serbian European Integration Office (SEIO), and supported by the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia, within the ''Strengthening Serbia-EU Civil Society'' project.
Project “Civil Society of Serbia in the Process of EU Integration: Sharing Values and Maintaining Dialogue” has been implemented in five phases: Consultative process for policy development; Capacity building training on policy paper writing in the field of environmental protection; Capacity building training on public advocacy in the field of environmental protection; Design and development of the policy papers; Structured dialogue.
Education programme under the project “Civil Society of Serbia in the Process of EU Integration: Sharing Values and Maintaining Dialogue” was designed to ensure, for selected participants, the relevant and applicable knowledge on the functioning and activities of the European Union in the field of Environmental Policy; to increase capacities of CSO’s in Serbia for activism and dealing, successfully, with environmental problems of local and regional character; to develop a framework for CSO’s participation in environmental laws and environmental policy implementation; to form a network of CSO’s in order to find joint solutions in the field of Environmental Policy.
The project included 33 civil society organizations from the territory of the Republic of Serbia that were dealing with the environmental issues. Each organization has been represented by one representative.
