The E4NEETs (Reinforcement of support structures for NEETs in the entrepreneurial field) project aims to address thelack of access to entrepreneurship for young adults who are considered as NEETs (Not in Employment, Education or Training).
Indeed, entrepreneurship, and especially social entrepreneurship, can be an important lever for these young people insofar as it allows them to achieve several results: - the acquisition of key-skills, useful for their socio-vocationalintegration; - their remobilization by restoring their self-confidence thanks to pedagogical workshops encouraging selfdevelopment;- their involvement within their community via the creation of solutions responding to locally observed challenges; - and finally, for some, the development of projects that will ultimately allow them to become self-employedand to create economic activities with strong social and environmental impacts. Thus, the development of socialentrepreneurship could be a solution to the current challenges: just before the COVID-19 pandemic, there were approximately 1.7 million fewer young people neither in employment nor in education or training (NEETs) across the EU.Youth unemployment had dropped to a record low of 14.9% by February 2020. Besides, a new study led by Eurofoundhas now revealed that young people in Europe are feeling the strong impact of pandemic restrictions as they cope with the lowest levels of mental well-being and high levels of loneliness. And yet, the support structures working with NEETs and accompanying them (local missions, chambers of commerce and industry, etc.) don’t have the means and the tools to sensitize, inform and support the NEETs interested in entrepreneurship in an efficient way.
As a contribution to the development of the support system for the NEETs, the following results will be accomplished:
PR1 - A support program framework for the staff working with NEETs
PR2 - Training tools and techniques on social entrepreneurship for the staff working with NEETs
PR3- A pedagogical tool addressing policy-makers and company executives
The project is supported within Erasmus + programme, and it will be implemented in the period from the november 2021 to december 2023.
